PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — A man was put behind bars after deputies said they found 17 fraudulent EBT cards while contacting him.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office said said they initially responded to a call regarding a person trying to commit fraud at the Wells Fargo in North Auburn on April 1. However, the suspect had already taken off before deputies arrived.
Not long afterward, deputies were notified that the same person was at Bank of America "conducting fraudulent activity," according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies arrived and contacted 39-year-old Bogdan Drapac, of Long Beach. While contacting him, deputies said they found 17 fraudulent EBT cards and 29 gift cards they believe have the personal identifying information of more victims.
Drapac was arrested booked on suspicion of fraud.
