ELK GROVE, Calif. — A teenager was arrested after he allegedly called in a threat to stay home from school.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the 14-year-old was arrested Thursday morning by school resource officers in the Elk Grove Unified School District.
Police said the teenager called 911 with someone else's phone and said a school shooting was going to happen. He identified himself as someone else during the call, police said.
He was ultimately identified, and police determined he was acting alone in order to stay home from school.
He was booked into temporary custody at Sacramento County Juvenile Hall on a felony charge of criminal threats.
