FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A Fairfield man was arrested after he allegedly hit a bicyclist in Placer County and left them at the scene with severe injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Sunday on Industrial Avenue near Lon McAnally Loop.
CHP says the driver hit a bicyclist along the east shoulder of the road and they sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver left the scene instead of stopping to help the bicyclist.
The vehicle involved was identified as a silver Nissan Versa and debris was recovered from the scene. CHP officers found the vehicle later the same day in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Fairfield.
The driver, 28-year-old Tarron Cory Brown, was arrested for felony hit-and-run.
