EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. — The FBI is turning to the public to help catch a serial bank robbery suspect who's robbed or attempted to rob at least five banks around Northern California over the last several months.
Authorities released surveillance footage from some of those robberies in the hopes of identifying the person responsible.
The first alleged robbery took place on Nov. 23, 2018 at a River City Bank branch in Davis. On Nov. 27, the suspect struck again, this time at a U.S. Bank branch in Yuba City. On Jan. 2 and on Feb. 15 the suspect robbed the same U.S. Bank branch in El Dorado Hills.
Most recently, investigators say the man tried to rob a Wells Fargo Bank in Dixon on March 2 but did not get away with any money.
Investigators believe the same man is responsible for all of the robberies. He is described as a white male between the ages of 20 and 30 years old. He is approximately 5’6” to 5’10” tall with a thin build. In each of the robberies the man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. He was also wearing a ball cap, dark-colored basketball shorts and black shoes.
During each robbery investigators say the man entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding cash. He then fled on foot each time after receiving the money.
If you recognize this person you are asked to call the FBI Sacramento Field Office. You can also submit tips online at tips.fbi.gov.
The FBI, Davis Police Department, Dixon Police Department, El Dorado County Sheriff’s office and Yuba City Police Department are investigating this series of bank robberies.
