3 Sacramento men arrested for kidnapping Antelope Valley business owner, 1 still wanted

Three Sacramento men were arrested for beating, burglarizing and abandoning the victim.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Three Sacramento men were recently arrested for kidnapping an Antelope Valley business owner.

According to the United States District Court in Los Angeles, Shanjeet Brar, 57; Peter Arafiles Jr, 29; and Andrae Hawkins, 29, were arrested last week for beating, burglarizing and abandoning the business owner in an isolated area in California.

A fourth suspect who has not been found and is still wanted was identified as 43-year-old Jerome Franklin Jr.

The alleged crime happened on Oct. 27, 2023, when the suspects traveled from Sacramento to Lancaster to kidnap the victim at his workplace.

Authorities say the suspects beat the victim, zip-tied his hands, duct-taped his turban over his face, and demanded $100,000 and jewelry.

Police say some of the suspects went to the victim's home to burglarize it while he was kidnapped. The victim's wife was calling his phone when the suspects approached the house.

The victim was later abandoned.

One of the suspects, Brar, is accused of renting one of the two vehicles used in the kidnapping.

If the suspects are convicted, they could face a life sentence.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this case.

Assistant United States Attorney of the Violent and Organized Crime will execute this case.
