Fresno police sergeant arrested after Roseville investigation

The initial investigation into him was launched by the Roseville Police Department. Fresno police say they are cooperating.

FRESNO, Calif. — A Fresno police sergeant is on paid administrative leave after being arrested for attempted lewd acts on a child.

The Fresno Police Department says it was notified Wednesday by the Roseville Police Department about a warrant issued for 56-year-old Sgt. Paige McQuay.

McQuay was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of attempted lewd acts upon a child and communication with a minor with the intent to commit an unlawful offense.

Fresno police say McQuay has been with the department since 1993 and an internal investigation is underway.

The initial investigation into McQuay was launched by the Roseville Police Department. Fresno police say they are cooperating.
