STOCKTON, Calif. — An inmate at the California Health Care Facility in Stockton allegedly attacked an employee Monday morning.
According to a spokesperson for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, staff were notified of the attack around 10 a.m. Officials said staff saw the inmate choking an employee and had to use chemical agents to break things up.
The employee was taken to a hospital, treated and released. The inmate wasn't hurt during the incident.

California Health Care Facility is a 54-building complex in South Stockton that provides housing and treatment for inmate patients.
Prison officials are referring the case to the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office for possible felony convictions.
