Jayden Walker identified as boy killed in Stockton area hit and run

Officials said he was a student in the Manteca Unified School District.

MANTECA, Calif — The boy killed in a hit-and-run collision in the Stockton area was identified as 14-year-old Jayden Walker, of Lathrop.

The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the boy's identity with ABC10 Tuesday.

According to the Stockton Police Department, it happened around 8:15 a.m. Monday on the 1900 block of East French Camp Road.

Upon arrival, officers found Walker and began lifesaving measures before he was pronounced dead at the scene. No suspect information was available.

Walker was also a student in the Manteca Unified School District, school officials confirmed with ABC10. They learned about his death Tuesday.

"We understand that this news might elicit a range of concerns and emotions among the student’s school community. In consideration of this, the student’s school has on-campus counseling services for students, staff, and family members affected by this loss. These services are available to offer social and emotional support for those who may require assistance in processing this news and the grieving process," the school district said.
