SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — Lathrop Police Service arrested eight men for making plans to meet and have sex with minors under the age of 14, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
The Lathrop operation, referred to as "Trick-No-Treat," began Oct. 21, according to the sheriff's office.
"The perpetrators... arranged to meet what they thought was a minor under the age of 14, but were surprised when it was law enforcement," said a Facebook post from the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.
Kameron Williams, 21; Eric Duncan, 43; Yonnatan Soto-Garcia, 27; Robert Amrine, 72; Brian Whitmer, 38; Eric Childs, 33; Terjean Saffold, 31; and Ali Rashid, 40, were all arrested (pictured below left to right).
The men were booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on the following charges:
- attempted lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14
- arranging to meet with a minor for the purposes of having sex
- arranging to meet a minor under the age of 14 for the purposes of having sex
"Lathrop Police Services wants to ensure the safety of children this Halloween and these arrests make our community safer," the Facebook post said.
