Man accused of using doggy door to break into Fairfield home

Police said the man was on Post Release Community Supervision for burglary at the time of the burglary.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A man was arrested and accused of using a doggy door to break into a Fairfield home.

According to Fairfield Police Department, the break-in happened around 3 a.m. Sept. 8 along the 1600 block of Flamingo Drive. Police said the suspect reportedly broke in through a doggy door.

The resident called police after seeing the incident play out on surveillance video.

Police arrived, found some of the victim's property on the porch and also heard someone inside the home. However, the suspect took off into a neighboring yard. He was ultimately arrested after police found him hiding behind a tree.

Police said James Jackson stole property from the victim's home and was also on Post-Release Community Supervision for burglary. He was booked into the Solano County Jail.
