SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman and cut her neck with scissors in Carmichael Sunday evening.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened along the 4400 block of Garfield Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
Deputies said the suspect physically restrained the woman and used scissors to cut her neck before sexually assaulting her.
He was detained by deputies and taken to a hospital. A sheriff's spokesperson said the man said he had a medical emergency. Once medically cleared, he'll be booked into the county jail.
Deputies said the victim had non-life-threatening injuries and that both the victim and suspect know each other.
