TURLOCK, Calif. — A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to rob a bank in Stanislaus County in January, according to the Turlock Police Department.
Police say they arrested 29-year-old Jose Elizalde of Denair Thursday. Elizalde allegedly attempted to rob a bank in the 2400 block of Geer Road around 1:30 p.m. Jan. 25 and drove away from the scene on a dirt bike. A panic alarm signaled police to come to the area but he had already left.
During the investigation, officials found Elizalde was associated with a robbery case the Merced County. Both the police department and the Merced County Sheriff’s Office got arrest warrants and Elizalde is now held on a $1.1 million bail. It is unclear how much, if any, money was taken in these investigated robberies.
