SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A man was busted for driving under the influence of alcohol twice in less than 24 hours on Sunday, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigators.
The suspected DUI driver was first picked up around 3 a.m. by CHP officers in Solano County, authorities said. After spending the night in the Solano County Jail, the suspect was released when officials said he went to the tow yard to recover his vehicle.
From the tow yard though, officials said the man went to buy more alcohol to drink. He was again pulled over on Interstate 80 at the Greenback Lane off-ramp. According to investigators, the man was again tested for DUI and arrested.
So far, authorities have not identified the man. It is unclear why he was allowed to drive his car home from the tow yard after having been arrested for DUI the first time.
