Suspect arrested in Manteca stabbing

​Police said the stabbing was an isolated incident and poses no threat to the public.

MANTECA, Calif — One man is in the hospital and another is behind bars after a stabbing in Manteca.

The Manteca Police Department said the victim in the stabbing was reportedly bleeding and walking along the 200 block of North Union Road just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, the stabbing happened after he and another man got into a fight that ultimately led to the stabbing. Police said both men knew each other.

The victim was taken to a hospital where police said he's in stable condition.

The suspect in the stabbing was identified as Tam Van Nguyen, 45 of Manteca, and he was taken into custody around 11 a.m. Thursday. He was booked into the county jail on a pre-complaint warrant.

Police said the stabbing was an isolated incident and poses no threat to the public.
