Man found dead inside Ceres home after woman calls reporting break-in, deputies say

Right now, it's not known who the man is and how he died. The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man was found dead inside a Ceres home after a woman called saying someone broke into her home Thursday morning.

This happened near the 3200 block of McGee Avenue in Ceres around 4:30 a.m.

"She said she and her young daughter were hiding in her bedroom," the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office wrote in a press release. "Deputies immediately responded to the residence, where they located a deceased male inside the home. The female who reported the disturbance and her daughter were located and appeared unharmed."

Right now, it's not known who the man is and how he died. The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
