Man hit, killed by car driven by suspected DUI driver in Lodi, police say

The Lodi Police Department says they were called to the intersection of Cherokee Lane and Elm Street around 9:40 p.m. about a person being hit by a car.

LODI, Calif. — A man was killed after an accused DUI driver hit him in Lodi Thursday night, according to police.

The Lodi Police Department says they were called to the intersection of Cherokee Lane and Elm Street around 9:40 p.m. about a person being hit by a car. The man who was hit was taken to the hospital where he later died. 

Police say they arrested 49-year-old Lucas Suarez Ramos at the scene on suspicion of DUI, vehicular manslaughter and other related charges. 

An investigation is ongoing and police urge anyone with information to contact them at gramirez@lodi.gov while referencing case #24-4931.

No other information is known at this time.
