NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. — A Nevada County man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of endangering a child among other charges.
James Robert Wolfsgruber Jr., 34 of Smartsville, was arrested after Nevada County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to Wild Turkey Lane for an unrelated probation violation.
Once at the home, officials say they found 30 pounds of cannabis, an uncapped syringe filled with suspected heroin and methamphetamine on the floor, and a loaded shotgun with the safety off leaning against a child's play kitchen. Officials say a minor had access to all items in the home.
The day after he was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on drug, weapons and other charges, officers served a search warrant on the home and found an extra 331 pounds of cannabis and 75 cannabis plants. Officials cited James Robert Wolfsgruber Sr., Wolfsgruber’s father, with charges related to the additional cannabis found.
Officials did not release the age of the minor and it's unclear who the minor is in relation to the Wolfsgruber's.
