NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. — Sacramento County Sheriff's Office officials are investigating after two minors were stabbed and multiple people were detained in North Highlands late Friday night.

The sheriff's office says it happened in the 3900 block of Madison Avenue around 10:15 p.m. when deputies were called to a party.

Amar Gandhi, spokesperson with the sheriff's office, says a bunch of kids, ranging in age from 14 to 17 years old, were drinking and smoking when a man and woman showed up "uninvited." He says the man picked a fight with some of the minors and began "losing."

The mans girlfriend grabbed a nearby bong and hit someone over the head with it, then grabbed a shard from the shattered bong and stabbed someone else.

The man, woman and two minors were taken to the hospital all with minor or non-life-threatening injuries, Gandhi says.

At one point, eight people were detained and Gandhi says someone was hit by a car but also had minor injuries. It's unclear how that happened or if they were one of those involved in the fight.

An investigation is ongoing and officials encourage parents to know where their kids are late at night.
