Police investigating deadly shooting in north Sacramento

One man was found dead on scene and another died after being transported to a local hospital, police say.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento Police Department officers are investigating a shooting near Northgate Boulevard and Wisconsin Avenue that left two people dead on Sunday night.

When officers arrived at the 500 block of Wisconsin Avenue, they located one male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Another male victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Sacramento Police Department officials say he later died at the hospital.

The shooting happened at 7:21 p.m. on Sunday, police say.

Traffic along Northgate Boulevard is blocked between Indiana Avenue and Potomac Avenue while officers investigate. 

No suspect information has been released as of Sunday night. Police officials say they believe this is an isolated incident.
