SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — Two patrol cars were rammed in San Joaquin County on Friday in two separate instances.
The first happened in Stockton where police said Ly Bun, 35, rammed his vehicle into a patrol car. Police had gone to the 4200 block of Pacific Avenue to look into a report of a suspicious subject. Bun allegedly rammed his vehicle into an officer's patrol car as he was trying to get away.
A police K9 was deployed, but Bun allegedly attacked the dog. Police said they used taser to ultimately remove Bun from the vehicle.
Bun was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, assault on a police K9, and resisting arrest.
Later, just before midnight, two deputies were struck by a wrong way driver on southbound I-5 near the French Camp Road exit.
The deputies' vehicle was pushed off the highway and found on the west embankment.
Stockton police weren't far from the area and stopped to help, however, according to authorities, they were stopped by a combative Adan Medina-Torres, 23, as he tried to leave the area.
He was taken into custody and CHP arrived to investigate the crash site.
Medina-Torres was booked into San Joaquin County Jail by CHP officers on charges of felony DUI, assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest.
The deputies in the crash were taken to a local hospital and eventually released.
