SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — A portion of northbound Interstate 5 in San Joaquin County was closed due to a pedestrian running around the lanes, the California Highway Patrol said.
The closures is just south of Downing Avenue, and there is no estimate for when the roadway will reopen.
A spokesperson for CHP said an uncooperative pedestrian got onto the freeway and ran around the lanes, ultimately making their way to the northbound side of the road to the canal.
Negotiators are trying to get the pedestrian to cooperate with authorities.
