Man dies days after Tracy hit-and-run. Police search for suspect

The Tracy Police Department said Akminder Singh, 38, succumbed Tuesday to injuries he suffered in the crash.

TRACY, Calif. — A man died Tuesday after succumbing to injuries he suffered Saturday during a hit-and-run in Tracy, authorities said.

Akminder Singh, 38, of Tracy, was identified Wednesday by the Tracy Police Department. Police said the hit-and-run was reported just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday along Grant Line Road.

After the crash, law enforcement closed West Grant Line Road between Lincoln Boulevard and O'Hara Drive as they investigated the scene. Now, they search for a suspect.

"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time," the department said in a statement. "The Tracy Police Department is committed to bringing justice to those responsible for this tragedy."
