4 arrested after police raid 'sophisticated illegal black-market' marijuana farms in Stanislaus County

The investigation began in February after tips led officials to five locations in Stanislaus County that were accused of being in the operation.

TURLOCK, Calif. — Four people were arrested, five locations were searched and thousands of marijuana plants were found Tuesday after Turlock Police Department partnered with other agencies to investigate what they call a "sophisticated illegal black-market cannabis cultivation operation."

The investigation began in February after tips led officials to five locations in Stanislaus County that were accused of being in the operation.

Search warrants were issued to four locations in Turlock and one in Ceres around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday where police say they found "well over 5,500 marijuana plants" and six guns — one of which they say was stolen. 

The Turlock Police Department says they searched the following locations:

  • 6400 block of West Main St., Turlock
  • 700 block of North Faith Home Road, Turlock
  • 4900 block of South Prairie Flower Road, Turlock
  • 200 block of South Orange St., Turlock
  • 1300 block of Hackett Road, Ceres

Turlock residents Brigit Oseguera, 29, Jose Solis-Macedo, 32, Virgilio Jimenez, 37, Steven Evans, 62, were all arrested on suspicion of violating multiple health and safety codes related to marijuana growing. Evans was also charged on suspicion of having a stolen gun and drugs.
