SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Police are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can help them find the person responsible for shooting an eight-year-old in Upper Land Park earlier this month.
The shooting was reported to the Sacramento Police Department on July 2 around 4:45 a.m. on the 2600 block of Kit Carson Street. An eight-year-old child was shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Weeks later, police have partnered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and posted a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the person responsible.
Anyone with information can call the ATF or Sacramento Police Department at 916-808-0800.
According to police, the eight-year-old still has a long road to recovery ahead and it remains unclear if there is any long term damage.
