ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Thursday update:

A federal grand jury recently indicted Dr. Khursheed Haider on a charge of distribution of child explicit material and a charge of possession of child explicit material.

U.S. Attorney's Office representatives say the doctor faces a maximum of 20 years in prison on each charge and a $250,000 fine.

Original story:

A doctor was accused of possessing child pornography after an undercover operation by the FBI, according to court documents.

Dr. Khursheed Haider, 48, is being held without bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail. He was booked on Nov. 20 after his home in Roseville was searched, according to court documents.

According to the criminal complaint, the Honolulu division of the FBI was investigating a case involving child pornography being traded. After arresting a suspect in Honolulu, they assumed the person's identity for an undercover operation and said they found evidence of a user called "kingg" posting, distributing, and/or requesting materials that included "pre-pubescent boys and girls, bestiality, and BDSM (bondage, domination, sadism, and masochism)."

Authorities said the user was linked to Haider's home in Roseville. After getting a search warrant on Nov. 17, FBI agents and other law enforcements officer executed the warrant on Nov. 20 and searched Haider's home.

According to court documents, authorities found several files of child phonography on Haider's phone.
