According to police, the victims were approached in the parking areas and had "high-value items" targeted.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Expect more police officers around the Roseville Galleria Mall after armed robberies were reported in recent days.

The Roseville Police Department said the robberies happened over the last two days. Police were called the Galleria Mall for two separate robberies, and they are still investigating whether the incidents could be connected.

According to police, the victims were approached in the parking areas and had "high-value items" targeted.

In response to the robberies, police are boosting their presence and enforcement in and around the mall.

"This increase in police presence is part of our proactive approach to ensure a secure shopping environment during the holiday season. Our officers will be highly visible and vigilant in deterring and responding to any criminal activities," Roseville police said in a news release.

In addition to the extra officers, police are advising people to be aware of their surroundings while shopping, report suspicion activities, avoid displaying their expensive items unnecessarily and park in well-lit and populated areas.

No additional details surrounding the robberies at the mall were released.

Jeff Richardson, senior General Manager at Westfield Galleria mall, provided the following statement to ABC10.

"The safety and security of our customers, retailers and employees is our primary concern and we are, like the rest of the community, troubled by the recent uptick in retail crime across the US.  At Westfield Galleria at Roseville, we have a comprehensive security plan in place including a close partnership with Roseville Police Department, with officers onsite daily. We employ the nation’s largest security provider, Allied Universal, to patrol both interior and exterior areas of the center as well as leverage a robust CCTV system. Most importantly, we are diligent about coordinating our security training and preparedness with local law enforcement, making sure our security measures reflect the increased visitation the holiday season brings. We are incredibly grateful for the support local law enforcement provides the community and we will continue work with them as well as follow their guidance in preparing for, or responding to, any incidents."
