SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Sacramento driver is in custody more than a year after they allegedly hit a pedestrian and left them to die.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, 41-year-old Cecil Belton was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death and other charges.
Police say Belton hit a pedestrian the morning of Aug. 17, 2023, and left the scene. The pedestrian died from their injuries.
Belton’s bail is $80,000, according to Sacramento County jail records.
