SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento Police are investigating the death of a woman north of Alkali Flat as a homicide.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was found just after 10 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of North B and Bannon Streets, police said.

Officers found her "suffering from trauma to her upper body" and attempted first aid, the department said. Ultimately, they were unable to save her life.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the crime has not been determined.
Based on preliminary information, detectives believe this was an isolated incident and said there is no threat to the community.
