Shooting closes streets in downtown Sacramento, no injuries reported

Officials say they were called to the 600 block of J Street on reports of a shooting but have not found any victims.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Streets in downtown Sacramento were closed and filled with police after reports of a shooting were called in late Saturday night. 

The Sacramento Police Department says they got calls around 10:45 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 600 block of J Street. Once at the scene, officers began closing streets to investigate where they found evidence of a shooting. 

No injuries were reported. Using a drone, officers found the 17-year-old suspect inside a parking garage near 8th and J Streets. He was arrested on charges related to the shooting, police said.
