SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Deputies have launched an investigation after a deadly shooting in Sacramento County.
A spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the shooting was reported around 6 p.m. along the 5700 block of Hillsdale Boulevard, not far from Walerga Road. At least one person was shot and taken to the hospital but ultimately died, according to the sheriff's office.
Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said deputies also received a shotspotter activation that detected 12 rounds shot for the incident.
The sheriff's office said in an update Thursday, that two people were shooting at each other in front of a liquor store in the area. One of the people drove themselves to a hospital after being shot in the leg.
The person who died has only been described as a man.
