2-year-old wounded after accidental shooting in Stockton

It's not clear what led up to the shooting.

STOCKTON, Calif. — A two-year-old is in the hospital after being shot in Stockton Tuesday afternoon.

According to Stockton Police Department, officers responded to the 1200 block of North Commerce Street for the reported shooting.

By the time officers arrived, the child was already taken to a nearby hospital, but police were ultimately able to find the child.

The two-year-old boy was listed in stable condition with a non-life-threatening injury.

It's not clear what led up to the shooting, but police said the shooting was accidental.
