CERES, Calif. — A shooting threat toward a Ceres junior high school was found to be a hoax, according to police.
A significant police response was sent out to school sites in the district after Ceres Police Department got a call about a person, only described as male, saying he was going to shoot students at Mae Hensley Junior High School. The call came in around 11 a.m.
According to police, the suspect said he would be at the school in 10 minutes. As police responded and investigated, lockdowns were put into place to protect students, staff and citizens.
Police ultimately determined the threat was a hoax and no one was hurt.
