RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — Deputies have launched an investigation after stabbing in Rancho Cordova Sunday afternoon.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the incident was reported in the area of Zinfandel Drive and White Rock Road by a code enforcement officer around 3:15 p.m.
Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said deputies initially thought the man was shot, but learned he was actually stabbed at an apartment on Laurelhurst.
Sgt. Gandhi said the victim was taken to the area of White Rock and Zinfandel Drive by a friend, where they flagged down the code enforcement officer.
Sgt. Gandhi said the man was in some kind of an argument or fight before being stabbed in the chest. Gandhi described the wound as life threatening.
Deputies are still looking for the suspect.
