SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A man was arrested Thursday weeks after a Sacramento County shooting left a man in the hospital, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened May 5 around 10 a.m. at an apartment complex on the 7400 block of La Mancha Way. Officials say the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Jorge Riverasalas, allegedly shot the victim in the head after a confrontation.

The victim got into his car and drove away, calling 911. Officials found the victim in the 6400 block of Mack Road after he pulled over and took him to the hospital in critical condition, but he has since stabilized.

Riverasalas was arrested at work in the Natomas area, officials say and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a $100,000 bail and will appear in court Tuesday.

No other information is available at this time.
