Another arrest made in connection to November homicide in Stockton

The Stockton Police Department said the homicide happened Nov. 28, 2023 near the 3900 block of North Pershing Avenue.

STOCKTON, Calif. — Two men have been arrested in connection to a homicide that took place back in November 2023.

The Stockton Police Department said the homicide happened Nov. 28, 2023 near the 3900 block of North Pershing Avenue. Police said they responded to a call of a person shot and found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He later died on the scene.

Over two months later, police made the first arrest of a suspect on Feb. 9, 2024. The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Marvin Gaines. He was arrested in Nevada by the U.S. Marshal's Service. He was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide-related charges. 

Another arrest was recently made on Tuesday. The U.S. Marshal's Service arrested 27-year-old Jabarie Galvin. He also was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide-related charges. 

As of right now, law enforcement said the homicide is still an active investigation.
