Police asking for more information after deadly shooting in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. — The Stockton Police Department is asking for more information about a deadly shooting that happened in July. 

Officials said they received a call around 9:00 p.m. on July 7 for a shooting near the 1200 block of North Commerce Street.

Officers found a 37-year-old man who was shot. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. 

Earlier that day police were called to a shootout near Gordon Verner Circle where several cars and homes were hit. 

Police said when they arrived at the scene, there were shell casings from multiple guns and that the primary suspect was seen on surveillance footage running from the scene. 

The vehicle the suspect drove was described as a blue Volkswagen Atlas.
