Tracy domestic violence suspect arrested after standoff

Upon arrival, officers found the victim had a temporary restraining order against the suspect, 30-year-old Saul Velasquez.

TRACY, Calif. — A Tracy domestic violence suspect is now in custody after an hours-long standoff Monday night.

According to the Tracy Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident on West Carlton Way around 8:30 p.m.

Officers found the victim had a temporary restraining order against the suspect, 30-year-old Saul Velasquez.

As they tried to get him to leave the home, three other people came out while he was inside.

The Crisis Response Unit then arrived and, after getting warrants, deployed chemical agents causing Velasquez to surrender.

He was arrested and booked on suspicion of corporal injury on spouse/partner, violating a restraining or protective order and resisting arrest.
