Tracy man arrested in connection to shooting, killing of 17-year-old

Victor Vera, 27 of Tracy, was arrested in connection to 17-year-old David Cantero Valdez's death.

TRACY, Calif. — The Tracy Police Department says they arrested a 27-year-old man Friday in connection to the homicide of 17-year-old David Cantero Valdez.

Police say Cantero Valdez was shot several times inside his car on Sugar Road between Tracy Boulevard and Holly Drive around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 12.

After investigating, police served a search warrant at a home in the 1600 block of Court Drive in Tracy around 10 a.m. Victor Vera, 27 of Tracy, was arrested in connection to Cantero Valdez's death. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on related charges.
