2 men wanted for setting fires on Sacramento State campus, police say

The two men were seen on camera around 9:45 p.m. Sunday.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State Police Department is investigating after two men were accused of setting two fires on campus Sunday night.

According to a news release from the police department, the two men lit clothing on fire underneath a metal bench between the Hornet Bookstore and University Union around 9:45 p.m.

Then, a few minutes later, they were seen lighting an object on fire inside a trash can next to the bus stop on State University Drive.

The suspects ran off toward the American River levee/Alumni Grove area.

The first suspect is a man in his early to mid-20s with short dark hair and a thin mustache. He was in a black hoodie with gray sleeves, khaki pants, and red or orange Nike shoes with black stripes.

The second suspect is a man in his early to mid-20s with short dark hair. He was in a gray Ecko Unltd. hoodie with white letters, camouflage shorts, black ankle socks and red shoes.
