LODI, Calif. — Police have launched a homicide investigation after two men were shot to death in Lodi Monday evening.
Lodi Police Department said they responded around 6:30 p.m. to the 1100 block of South Central for reports of shots fired.
Police arrived and found two men inside a home with gunshot wounds. One man, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other man, 49, was taken to a hospital, but ultimately died from his injuries.
The suspect in the shooting took off before police arrived.
"This appears to be a targeted incident and we are working to identify the suspect. We do not believe there is any threat to the public at this time," said Lodi Police Department in a news release.
The investigation is ongoing.
