STOCKTON, Calif. — Three trees caught fire after a large amount of illegal fireworks were set off at a Stockton park Saturday night.
According to Stockton Police Department, the fireworks were reported around 9:50 p.m. along the 2200 block of South Lincoln Street. Stockton firefighters arrived but found a large crowd in the park area and called for help.
Police responded not long afterward, but as they arrived, many of the people in the area took off until the park was nearly clear.
Ultimately, police said about three trees inside the park were damaged, but no homes or cars were damaged.
