West Sacramento woman accused of having sex with a minor in Washington

Police said Natasha Polk was currently employed as a Davis Joint Unified School District teacher.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif — Washington State police, with the help of West Sacramento police, have arrested a West Sacramento woman for allegedly traveling to Washington state to have sex with a minor

According to Centralia Police Department in Washington, the woman — identified as Natasha Polk — used to work at a middle school in Centralia, near Seattle, and had allegedly "been engaging in a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old male student" back in 2020. This is when the victim was in the eighth grade. Police said the alleged acts also continued for a time after he completed middle school.

The investigation into Polk began in 2023.

Through the investigation, law enforcement learned she allegedly gave the victim marijuana, alcohol and vapes. Police said that Polk would drive the victim to her apartment and engage in sex acts.

In 2021, police said Polk moved from Washington to West Sacramento but continued talking with the victim. During that same year, police added that she traveled back to Washington to visit the victim, rented an Airbnb and allegedly had sex with him.

As the investigation continued, police said Polk was employed as a teacher with the Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD). The district's first day of school was scheduled for Aug. 26. An arrest warrant was issued, and Polk was arrested at her home in West Sacramento on Wednesday.

Maria Clayton, a DJUSD spokeswoman, said the district was notified Thursday of Polk's arrest and took immediate action to place Polk on administrative leave. Polk taught at Frances Harper Junior High School and has been with the district since August 2022, Clayton said.

Clayton said the district was shocked and disturbed to learn of the allegations.

"These charges are of the most serious nature, and DJUSD is encouraging any person who might have concerns or information about Natasha Polk to contact the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400," Clayton said. "The district will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and will do so until a final resolution of the charges."

She was booked into the Yolo County jail and is awaiting extradition to Lewis County in Washington state.

This investigation is ongoing.
