SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman died after a hit-and-run collision in Sacramento Thursday morning.
The Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of Fruitridge Road and 65th Street Expressway to check on a person who was down in the roadway around 6 a.m.
Police said the woman was found injured and unresponsive in the roadway; she was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the woman was hit by a vehicle that took off before officers arrived.
The identity of the woman hasn't been released at this time. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
