One man is dead after a fatal accident on Monday morning.
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol - Solano identified the man as a Dixon resident.
They said on April 8 around 8:10 a.m., the man was traveling on I-80 Eastbound in a white Chevrolet Silverado when a ladder detached from his vehicle and landed in the slow lane.
After pulling over to the right shoulder, he reversed toward the ladder and exited the vehicle.
He was struck by a gray Toyota Camry while attempting to recover his ladder.
CHP and the Dixon Fire Department responded, but the fire department pronounced the man deceased at the collision scene.
