MANTECA, Calif. — If you've spent a lot time passing through Highway 120 in Manteca, you may have noticed a lot of construction over the last 30 days.
The city said they are making great progress on the Great Wolf Lodge hotel and waterpark, and they expect to open during the summer of 2020.
It's bringing about 1,000 construction jobs to the city and when it's done, it will bring 500 to 600 total jobs to the area, according to officials.
The Great Wolf Lodge also announced last month that they are planning to allow a limited number of waterpark day passes for families who are just looking to cool off for the day, starting at $50 per person at all of their locations across the country.
"The opportunity is to let other people come in and experience the hotel at a time when [it] might be... slow," said Don Smail, Manteca economic development manager.
Up until last month, the waterpark was only available to hotel guests that paid to stay overnight.
"As a company, they've decided to offer some limited day passes based on occupancy," Smail said. "They want to make sure people that stay at the hotel don't have any lines in any of the rides and have a fully featured enjoyable experience."
