COLUMBIA, Calif. — One person died and another was injured after a mobile home fire Monday night in Tuolumne County.
According to the Tuolumne County Fire Department, it happened around 10 p.m. Monday on the 22000 block of Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia.
The fire department says it responded to a report of three mobile homes on fire with people trapped inside. Upon arrival, they found one mobile home fully involved and two others threatened.
Fire crews tried but were reportedly unable to get inside the home with a person inside. More crews arrived and began caring for another resident who was pulled out of the burning home by a bystander.
The fire was knocked down around 10:30 p.m., and one person was found dead. The person pulled to safety was airlifted to the hospital.
The fire department said the fire started by accident.
