TRACY, Calif. — Two men were killed in a head-on crash north of Tracy on Thursday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 3:20 p.m. in the rural area of Tracy Boulevard, south of Clifton Court.
For unknown reasons, a man in a Subaru steered to the left across double yellow lines and went into the direction of a Mercedes, the CHP said. The two vehicles later crashed head-on.
The Mercedes was occupied by the two men who died at the scene. Their ages were 53 and 58 and were from Oakland. Their identifies were not released.
The driver of the Subaru, a 39-year-old from Lodi, sustained minor injuries and was later arrested before he was taken to hospital for treatment, according to the CHP.
Tracy Boulevard were closed due to officers investigation the crash. The road closure was lifted sometime around 6 p.m.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
