NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. — Two people are dead after an accident in North Highlands Sunday afternoon.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District confirmed the fatalities with ABC10. The collision was reported in the area of Andrea Boulevard and Elkhorn Boulevard in North Highlands around 3:30 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a man in his 30s driving a Honda and a woman in her 30s driving a Nissan were driving eastbound along Elkhorn Boulevard when the Honda made an unsafe lane change and hit the Nissan.
Police said the crash pushed the cars into the westbound lane where they hit a Ford. Two people were inside the Ford, including a man in his 50s driving the Ford and a passenger in her 50s.
The driver of the Honda and the driver of the Ford died in the collision. The driver of the Nissan had minor injuries and the 50-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital.
