Authorities have identified two men killed when their small plane crashed near Northern California's Lake Berryessa.
The Napa County Sheriff's Office says 55-year-old Jon Murray Karkow and 41-year-old Cagri Sever were killed Monday.
The office says both Karkow, who was piloting, and Sever worked for Icon Aircraft, which manufactured the single-engine plane they were flying.
The Sacramento Bee newspaper reports the plane was an amphibious sport plane that can land and take off on water (http://bit.ly/2qKyNa1). The crash was on land, however. Lake Berryessa is 80 miles (129 kilometers) northeast of San Francisco.
The office says the planes have been a common sight in the lake area.
