OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. — A second avalanche was reported at Palisades Tahoe Thursday afternoon.
Officials at Palisades Tahoe said an avalanche was reported near Wolverine Bowl on the Alpine side around 12:30 p.m. The summit lift and terrain was immediately closed for the area. Officials said they did avalanche hazard mitigation before opening the ski area.
After ski patrol did RECCO, beacon and other searches, according to their protocol, Palisades Tahoe confirmed no guests or employees were involved.
The area was eventually cleared by patrol and the lift was reopened.
The reported avalanche comes a day after one happened at Palisades Tahoe in the KT-22 area. It killed 66-year-old skier Kenneth Kidd.
